Dell XPS Duo 12: A new innovative tablet + ultrabook

Dell has announced its latest device, the Dell XPS Duo 12 which runs Windows 8. This tablet + ultrabook device is a real innovation from Dell and sports a great flip-able screen, and is certainly a real contender in the Windows 8 tablet market.

The Dell XPS Duo 12 has a 12.5 touchscreen display boasting a Full-HD display with10-point multitouch. The exterior is similar to the Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook with a carbon-fibre top to protect the tablet. And lets not forget the Corning Gorilla Glass. To switch to tablet mode, users just have to flip the screen over – which is possible with an innovative flip hinge design.

This Dell would be using Intel’s Ivy Bridge Core Processors and would go up to i7 processors and 256GB SSD. It is also packed with USB 3.0 ports and a mini-Display port. Besides that, it has a full keyboard and a button-less touchpad.

The Dell XPS Duo 12 is certainly a great product from Dell – or can I say their best so far – and will certainly put them ahead of the tablet race. It will be available later this year when Windows 8 is officially released.
